Why Construction Industries Seek out for Certification?

I am in a dilemma that, do really all organizations in the AEC market are caring about Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) or It is just a requirement that makes the organization more competent in the market than other competitor. The reason behind that may be fall down as:
•It may be a legal requirement for the region
•It may be a statuary requirement
•It may be a requirement of the types of projects they are working
•It may be a tender requirement that they want to apply for
•It may be a management thought that they will get benefit for getting more business
•It may be a show off that they are working with high standards
•It may be an individual thought who really cares about HSEQ

I really don’t feel that it is an individual thought to seek out for certification.
Some time I feel like who cares @ Safety, Quality & Environment?
It is totally depends on the project Stakeholders decision and belief.
Any way, they are looking for the certification as a requirement that is good for them and for all.

What type of Certification Construction industry lookout for?

ISO 9001 : 2008
Quality management systems – Requirements

ISO 14001 : 2004
Environmental management systems — Requirements with guidance for use

BS OHSAS : 18001
Occupational Health and Safety Management

What it make difference after getting all these certification?
– Of course it will make the company more competent than other in the same market as these are the world’s most recognized business management standards that have been adopted across all industry types.
– It helps the organization to achieve consistent business process with measurable improvement of performance.
– It also helps the organization in cost saving if applied with continual improvement.
– It makes customer satisfied which helps to get more business from same customer.
– It helps to improve the organization’s competency by make more focus on training and development part.
